FOOD LAW AND HEALTH PROTECTION

The firm provides advice and assistance, before the competent administrative authorities and courts both at national (Italian and Belgian) and EU level in all areas of food law, with particular regard to production, marketing, labeling and free movement of foodstuffs. Among its clients the firm includes undertakings and associations of primary importance active, inter alia, in the production and marketing of meat, pasta, biscuits, dairy products, GMO, honey, garlic.

As regards the protection of health, the firm has developed a specific expertise, inter alia, on traceability, indication of origin and other measures applicable at national and European Union level in order to cope with the spread of epidemics and other animal diseases. It also provides advice and assistance regarding the interpretation and application of national and EU law concerning the protection and welfare of animals. The firm has successfully assisted its clients in several cases before the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union concerning the labeling of origin and traceability of foodstuffs, animal health, the adoption of exceptional measures to support the meat market, consumer and health protection.
